Hemp Building progress, step by step construction of 65sqm Hemp home.

Huge progress on the building of my hemp home...

Some pics:
Normal bulk standard non eco friendly slab, but the long term thermal mass and low energy use house will offset it all.

Normal council spec treated Pine.

To the roof going on and first stage electrical wired up:

normal colour bond roof
Wiring done by a local electrician.

The major hemp wall construction:

Improvising and using black plastic sheeting cut into strips to fit under the hemp wall.

Used the correct 'bought' version on the inside wall - waterproofing damp course

Setting in the elect outlets on the frame ready for hemp formwork.

Bitumen painting the bracing for extra protection under the lime hemp masonry.

First pour by stressed out me.

The batten screws and formwork attached with first layer of hemp masonry having been tamped

spacers around the windows and above doors for extra support

oxides used in several mixes and formed to create interesting lines through the exposed hemp wall

the beast that did it all!

Now on to renders, paints, silicate (waterglassing), to render or not to render? I'll be using the clay from the land mixed with various things, sand, lime (if it works) casein. To making my own lime wash with linseed oil, casein  & gum turps for inside.   Experiments coming up!
